Gateway Learning Center provides quality education experiences with a focus on Biblical values and principles that will solidify the foundation of each child in our care preparing them for an abundant life.
2s-the Owls
Our 2’s Class will work specifically on social emotional development, following directions, and language development. Cognitive objectives include: color, and shape recognition. Another important aspect of the 2’s class is teaching self-help skills and following daily routines. Children learn best through play and will have daily large and small group play opportunities. Our 2’s class also promotes potty-training skills to accommodate the home and center.
3s-the Turtles
Our 3’s Class will teach language expansion and social skills. Routines, self-help, and following directions will continue to be focused on, as well large and small group’s activity times. Children will have one on one teaching time opportunities in this class daily to enable focus on individual learning. Our 3’s will continue to build upon and learn number, letter, and shape recognition skills. Toileting skills are also a focus in this classroom as needed.
PreK-the Bears

Meet the Staff
Our Director:
Misty Brittingham
-“I am beyond humbled and ecstatic to have this opportunity to serve Gateway Church and the Washington County area families at GLC. To give some background about myself, I am happily married with three daughters, one son, and three fur baby puppies.  I have dearly loved and worked with children since the age of 10. Starting with teaching children’s church at 12 years old, there has not been a time that I have not been surrounded with children. Professionally, I have worked in early education for approximately 8 years through Early Head Start, Head Start, Gateway Academy, and Kids R Special Daycare.  All of these experiences have prepared me in my position here at GLC to reach out and provide opportunities for quality, christian, early education to all families which is exactly what Gateway Church desires to provide for our community.”
Our 2s Teacher:

-“For the last eleven years I have been a private nanny working with newborns up to age ten. The last two years I have been working at Gateway Learning Center with the 2’s classroom up school age in addition to being a nanny. The majority of my free time is spent with my nieces and nephews or with my church family. I am very active in my church, The Refuge, running our tech systems and working with our youth group, The Tower. I have a passion for missions, specifically in Haiti. I believe in the words of Colossians 2:6-7 being  my life story, with Christ being who I am rooted in and the foundation of my life.

-“I have a compassionate heart for children. I knew God blessed me with this gift as I began to take the role of being an aunt for the first time in 2008. I chose to follow God’s plan and walk in the path to become a teacher. I have my Associates Degree from HCC and I currently in my last semester as an undergraduate student at Shepherd University. This semester, I will be student teaching and then finally graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. I’ve been blessed with a gift from God and know God is using me to help children grow and learn new things. Aside from my heart for children and teaching, I love to worship God! I was a worship leader at my church and loved singing to worship Him. One of my favorite scriptures that has just been revealed to me to help me in my journey is Zephaniah 3:17.”

-“I have been a teacher’s aide for almost two years here at GLC. I volunteered as a Spanish teacher for two years at Gateway Christian Academy and have worked translating since I can remember. Growing up bilingual has made me aware of the privilege and advantage I have in today’s society. It is an honor for me to plant that seed and inherit the same opportunity to your children by adding a second language to their education. I am proud of each child at our center and very thankful to be their Spanish teacher. I am also thrilled to see them grow and to hear them apply the skills they learn.”
